HOCC doctor on the run
August 29, 2025
Lisa Bienia Kenton, MD, isn’t just saving lives in The Hospital of Central Connecticut Emergency Department — she’s also lacing up for the Great World Race, a 183.4-mile marathon that spans seven continents over seven days. The race kicks off Nov. 15, in Antarctica.
It isn’t just about miles for the mother of three — it’s about meaning. As she logs 100-plus training miles each week, she is also raising funds for the Malan Syndrome Foundation. Her goal is to raise $10,000 to support research and care for those affected by this rare chromosomal disease, including her niece and nephew.
“That’s a big part of why I am doing this,” Dr. Kenton said.
From polar ice to tropical heat, she is running with purpose, proving that compassion and courage can go the distance.
